The fee is calculated on the highest amount of three amounts of the tax base and follows the following scale:
- 0.5% on the amount up to 50 000$
- 1.0% on the amount beetween 50 001$ and 250 000$
Province of Quebec, out of Montreal:
- 1.5% on the amount exceeding 250 001$
For Montreal (since January 26th 2010):
- 1.5% on the amount from 250 001$ to 500 000$
- 2% on the amount exceeding 500 001$
